After moving to New York City and working at Mario Carbone&#8217;s Torrisi Italian Specialities, and and Tacienlli opened Don Angie. <\/p>\n<p>Tacinelli worked at Quality Meats before partnering with Rito. They opened a <a href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/food\/a-reverse-speakeasy-opens-in-the-east-village#photo-2\">reverse speakeasy<\/a> in the East Village where the bar hid a restaurant behind it. <\/p>\n<p>Don Angie took New York City by storm. <a href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/food\/don-angie-redefines-italian-american-cuisine-in-the-west-village\">Gothamist<\/a> has some beautiful photographs of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/food\/photos\/don-angie-redefines-italian-american-cuisine-in-the-west-village?image=1\">restaurant and the food<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The restaurant has been a focal point of reviving red sauce cuisine, although the New York Times explains that they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/05\/29\/dining\/don-angie-review.html\">&#8220;trample on tradition when they feel like it.&#8221;<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The new cookbook promises to further revive the cuisine in home kitchens.
